Browsing this website

This website includes no optional analytics, advertising trackers, embedded social widgets or downloaded fonts. The public interface does not set cookies.

Album navigation uses session storage to remember the photograph you opened and restore your position. That position stays in your browser tab; normal navigation still works if storage is disabled.

Search downloads a public index when you enter a query or select a tag, then matches the collection in your browser. Queries appear in shareable URLs; opening those URLs can expose them to hosting access logs. External profile links open other websites with their own privacy practices.

Hosting and enquiries

This website is run by Vito Koch as a private person, reachable at info@vitophotography.com. It is hosted on Amazon Web Services (AWS): pages and images are stored in Amazon S3 in Frankfurt, Germany, and delivered through the Amazon CloudFront network from a location near you. To deliver the site, AWS processes your IP address and standard request details such as the requested page and your browser's user agent. AWS acts as a processor under its standard GDPR data processing terms.

I do not keep access logs of your visits. Technical service logs without IP addresses are kept for up to 30 days to diagnose errors and are used only to keep the site working (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

When you email info@vitophotography.com, the message is received by Amazon Simple Email Service in Frankfurt, Germany, stored there for up to 30 days and forwarded automatically to my personal mailbox, provided by Google. I use your message and address only to reply to you, and delete the conversation once it is no longer needed (Art. 6(1)(b) and (f) GDPR).

Street photography sometimes shows people who happen to pass by. If you recognise yourself in a photograph and would rather not appear here, write to me and I will remove it, normally within a few days and without asking for reasons.

You can ask what personal data I hold about you, and have it corrected or deleted, or object to its use. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, for example the one where you live.

For a photo-removal enquiry, include the photograph’s page URL and a short explanation.
